Pressure Reveals Cracks

Pressure Reveals the Cracks

A Midnight Thought

There are moments in the quiet hours
when the world slows down and the heart begins to speak more clearly.

These reflections are born in the stillness of night when distractions fade,
when questions linger longer, and when faith is tested and refined.

Welcome to Midnight Thoughts,
shared breath by breath through the journey of living with ALS.

This reflection came to me in one of those quiet moments.

When Pressure Enters Our Lives

Pressure is something we all experience.
It comes in many forms, loss, uncertainty, illness, and fear.

But pressure doesn’t create our weaknesses.
It reveals them.

It shows us the cracks we already carry.
The fragile places in our faith.
The moments where we discover just how much we need God.

Pressure doesn’t break us it shows us where we need God the most.

What Faith Looks Like in the Cracks

Jesus spoke directly to this kind of faith when He said:

“If you have faith the size of a mustard seed,
you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move.
Nothing will be impossible for you.”
Matthew 17:20

This verse has always stayed with me.

Jesus wasn’t telling us we need a huge amount of faith.
He was reminding us that even the smallest amount of genuine faith matters.

Because it has never been about our strength.
It has always been about God’s power working through us.

Small Faith. Powerful Growth.

A mustard seed is tiny almost unnoticed.
Yet it grows into something strong and deeply rooted.

That is how faith works.

Small beginnings, when placed in God’s hands,
can grow into something powerful strong enough to stand under pressure,
strong enough to face mountains that feel immovable.

It’s not the size of our faith that matters it’s the God we place it in.

Living With Pressure and ALS

Living with ALS brings a kind of pressure that few understand.
It presses on the body, the mind, and the spirit.

But I’ve learned something important:

Pressure is not proof that we are breaking.
It is often evidence that God is revealing
where He wants to strengthen us.

The cracks pressure exposes are not failures.
They are invitations to places where God’s Word, His strength, and His grace
can fill what we cannot.

A Quiet Invitation

If you are walking through a season of pressure whether it is physical, emotional, or spiritual you are not alone.

Pressure may expose the cracks,
but God is the One who fills them.

Sometimes faith doesn’t look like moving mountains.
Sometimes it looks like standing still
and trusting God to hold you.

One Last Thought

In the stillness, I am reminded that even when strength fades,
faith remains.

These midnight thoughts are not written to offer answers,
but to offer companionship for anyone carrying heavy pressure,
walking through long nights or learning to trust God in the cracks.

If this reflection encouraged, you:
• Consider subscribing to Breath By Breath With ALS
• Share this post or video with someone who may be carrying heavy pressure
• Take a quiet moment to reflect and pray

Until next time,
God bless.
